Shanks has 30+ years’ experience in the application software industry. He joined SVAM as Managing Director – Solutions Delivery Global in 2019 having worked at HCL America Inc. for 23 years, exiting as Vice President. Shanks also serves as the CTO for ProTRACKPlus. Shanks’ expertise is in business analysis, application modernization, and deploying systemwide solutions with the desired outcome of large scale Joint Ventures (JV) such as large partnerships with IBM and CSC, Lowe’s, Ann Inc, Brightstar, and Boots ETC.. Shanks’ expertise in these engagements were client partnership, consultative solution sales, application portfolio transformations, and global services delivery.
Shanks completely transformed the IT landscape from mainframe to open systems, and from legacy applications for SAP, Manhattan Warehouse Management Systems, Siemens Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Software, (formerly UGS Corp.), and built several Microsoft-based products for MIS Solutions Inc.. Additionally, he spearheaded the JV with COMPUTECH, an Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), boutique firm in Chicago, which was the genesis of HCL Oracle practice, now 2000+ people strong.
Shanks is married and lives in Edison, NJ. His spouse, Dr. Nirmala Shankar, is a Chemistry lecturer at Rutgers University. They have 2 daughters, both married and settled in USA. Shanks enjoys reading, travel, yoga, and mentoring, and is active in social/charity activities such as Santosh Charity, Kiva.org, Rakum School for blind, Cauvery Calling, Solar Power, and others.
